As part of building a New Kerala, there is a responsibility to develop a new knowledge-based society. The younger generation expects better educational facilities, employment opportunities, and improved sources of income. These are emerging as new responsibilities of Local Self-Government Institutions.
The Block Panchayat will undertake projects that create employment opportunities and generate income for the people.
Access to the best possible public services is a right of every citizen. This will be ensured through the institutions and services entrusted to the Block Panchayat.
The Block Panchayat will ensure the best possible healthcare facilities and organize preventive programmes against lifestyle diseases. Special initiatives will be undertaken to make the Taluk Hospital more patient-friendly and to strengthen the Dental and Ophthalmology Departments. Healthcare and public facilities will be made more elderly-friendly and accessible to persons with disabilities.
Perambra Veterinary Polyclinic will be developed into one of the best veterinary polyclinics in the state.
The Block Panchayat will expand and improve public transportation facilities through the coordinated efforts of various agencies.
Innovative interventions will be undertaken in the areas of women, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens.
Comprehensive colony development and renovation programmes will be implemented.
New initiatives will be introduced to promote and strengthen the sports sector.
Local economic development programmes will be accelerated to promote sustainable economic growth and improve livelihood opportunities.
